I just received a stack of cards from many of you. My heart is touched by the grateful tidings I have read in your letters. It is such a gift to be a doctor. I am thankful that I have steady hands and am able to help many of you. I truly enjoy being a physician.
I have spent several months with my children, and they are ready to send me back to work! I am going to return to ophthalmology practice in a setting where I can balance both my obligations at home and my dedication to you. To accomplish this, I am setting up a new practice with both flexibility and personal attention as guiding principles. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career.
Thank you for making me feel appreciated and missed with your letters.
Sincerely,
Evelyn L. Baker, M.D.
